April Showers Bring May Flowers

  • Currently Reading:

Today I must tell myself that all these storms and rain will bring lots of pretty flowers!  It has been raining since I woke up.  Last night the thunder and rain kept waking me up.  I went to bed around 11 p.m. and I woke up one time wondering what that noise was...come to find out it was the storm.  It was thundering and lightning and it was pouring outside.  I looked to see what time it was on my cell phone and it was only 12:50 a.m.  Finally I went back to sleep.  Then sometime right before3:30 a.m. I woke up again and jumped, my husband was like are you okay?  I said yeah the rain woke me up I think.  Not long after that my husband's alarm went off for him to get ready for work.  When the alarm went off I jumped again.  Once again my husband was like, "You going to be okay?"  I said, "Yeah."  Once he left I finally went back to sleep and thankfully didn't wake up until about 9:30 a.m.  I don't know why the storm and rain scared me and woke me up.  Usually I sleep fine.  But the rain has not stopped at all.  I haven't went anywhere yet today.  I will be leaving in a couple of hours though.  Here's what the weather forecast is for the rest of today predicted by wral.com:

Conditions will become right for later Saturday for more rain and storms. Low-level moisture and warm, unstable will continue to flow in from the South and interact with an upper-level trough and frontal boundary moving from the west throughout the day.  "We do have a slight risk of severe thunderstorms, mainly over about the southeastern half of North Carolina from around the Triangle area south and east this afternoon and evening," Moss said.  There is a slight risk of damaging wind gusts, large hail and perhaps isolated tornadoes.  "Rainfall as we go through the next 24 hours as this system moves across the state, is indicated to be quite copious," Moss said.  "The model's showing anywhere from about 1 to 2 inches of rain for a lot of us," he continued. "And within some of these narrow streaks and bands, some of us may end up with 2 to 3 inches before this thing's all the way over with."

Thankfully, tomorrow the rain will be gone.  It rained just about all week so it'll be good to see no rain for a little bit.  Then towards the end of the week it's supposed to get back in the 70's.  YAY!!  I really do hope these showers and storms bring lots of pretty flowers!!
